Patient with infertility due to blocked fallopian tubes and anovulation. Treatment: In Vitro Fertilization
Despite the difficulties she had to go through to achieve a pregnancy, Carolina Ocampo found in perseverance the best alternative to overcome infertility and fulfill her dream of forming a family in the company of the specialists at InSer. Read her beautiful story here.
After trying to get pregnant for a year, my husband and I came to InSer. There, the doctor recommended that we have some preconception tests done, and that’s how we realized that my infertility problem was that my tubes were blocked and I wasn’t ovulating.
At that moment, we started with an ovulation stimulation treatment and, since we had a biochemical pregnancy, we then underwent an insemination treatment. After eight inseminations, we only had one failed pregnancy, and that is when they recommend us to try it through In Vitro fertilization.
When they did the first egg retrieval, they told us that these were not suitable for treatment, which was very hard for us because we had high hopes. They did a new retrieval and in it they managed to have 12 eggs from which nine embryos were formed. On that occasion we achieved a pregnancy with two embryos, one “stuck”, but in the seventh week of gestation, the baby died.
In the second attempt there was no pregnancy, but in the third we managed to have our daughters.
I think that if I hadn’t done everything in my power to be a mother, I would have regretted it later. It’s about persevering. InSer’s support is total, they were there for us at all times, the doctor not only behaves like a doctor but like a friend who is accompanying you all the time. It is an incredible accompaniment that we will be grateful for all our lives.
