Deciding to seek help when you long to have a child doesn’t make you less of a woman or less of a man. Deciding to do it is a challenge for the brave, who fight to fulfill their dream, sometimes a short path, other times a bit long. Today I look back and see everything we experienced in 6 years searching for our longed-for positive. It was a time of spiritual growth. God molded my character, led us to forgive, and strengthened us as a couple. We lived days with enormous faith and other days where, tired, we asked, when??? The world fell apart when we saw the negatives, but God put people in our lives who raised our arms to continue (Exodus 17:11-13), and clinging to His promise, we were able to get up again and again.
I want to tell you that if you are looking for that longed-for positive, dare to try an assisted reproduction treatment, be patient, persevere, don’t give up, keep trying, be humble, because I truly have faith that you will see God’s will, which “is good, pleasing, and perfect.” Every tear, effort, and injection in the belly is worth experiencing, and when you can hold your miracle in your arms, you will only smile and say again and again, “It was worth the wait.”
