After 9 years of marriage, the last 5 years trying for a baby, we achieved our most longed-for blessing, thanks to the vocation of a being whom I remember every day when I entrust him to God… He is His instrument, he knows well how to find babies.
In 2015 I went to my second consultation, the first here in Colombia with a doctor who was recommended to me by some friends. That doctor told me to take prenatal pills and to continue trying naturally with my husband for a little longer; leaving that office, sad, I realized that yes, that doctor was very good but he was not a specialist.
After that, looking for all possible ways, I went to speak with a priest in the Cathedral of Medellín, a rather old, healing Father. When I arrived, he asked me what I was looking for, I said I want to be a mother and he replied: well, go to the doctor, look for the doctor. I said, I have enough faith for God to heal me and my husband and I can be like all the couples who have their babies naturally. The Father looked at me and said: Pray to God, but keep hammering away… Go to the doctor.
Shortly after, I started a course and a classmate told me about her gynecologist, she told me that she was excellent and that she was sure she could help me and yes… blessed God who guided me. I went to that doctor and she told me, I am not a specialist, but I know who is going to help you, his name is Juan Luis Giraldo look for him at Inser.
I arrived at Inser and requested my appointment, April 2018, it wasn’t long before I was in consultation with him, the kindest and most cordial doctor I have ever attended in my life. He sent us to do many tests, my husband came out well and I came out with high TSH and high prolactin, his diagnosis was that due to this condition it was likely that I would not ovulate.
He told me that we should not wait, that he was aware of the years we had been seeking help and with all certainty he said that the moment had arrived, that it was possible, and that there were several ways, that it was up to us if we requested assisted reproduction or if we wanted to continue waiting naturally. He sent me treatment to level TSH and prolactin. I followed that treatment to the letter and decided with my husband to wait until January 2018 to start the assisted reproduction process, due to my work, I am a civil engineer and I worked in construction, the conditions of the work are not suitable to start or maintain a pregnancy, we knew that I should stop but not with certainty, so we decided to wait a few more months, we already knew that we were on the way and with the right help.
Two months after taking the treatment that the doctor sent me, I had a delay, I had already had many others during my years of searching, I was terrified that my period would come, that it would be a terrible and heartbreaking false alarm, on the 8th day my husband who is a Radiologist made me an ultrasound with his portable equipment at home and saw the yolk sac, he did not see an embryo.
The next morning I contacted Dr. Juan Luis and sent him the image of the echo via WhatsApp, he told me to take a pregnancy test, TSH and progesterone and to schedule an appointment with him as soon as possible. 4 days later we were in consultation with the “Dr. Blessing”… He said that my baby was a giant of 4 mm, my hubby and I almost died of love!!! Dr. Juan Luis controlled my pregnancy until week 12, I entered the consultations in love with my baby and after his ultrasounds I came out even more melted, he is a professional who definitely works in what he knows best, he recommended the Dr. who is currently controlling our pregnancy and we are also very happy with him.
Our most longed-for blessing is 25 weeks in my womb and is a girl, Mariana Daniela. Thank you Dr. Giraldo and thank you Inser… God works through you, blessings to all! There is nothing in the world that pays for what you do for families who are looking for a baby. THANK YOU!!!
