Biography
Dr. Carlos López Clavijo earned his medical degree in Medicine from Universidad de Caldas and specialized in Gynecology and Obstetrics at the same university. He holds additional specializations in Gynecologic Endocrinology and Human Reproduction from the Instituto de Ciencias en Reproducción Humana Vida in Mexico, Laparoscopic Gynecologic Surgery from Universidad CES, and Reproductive Medicine from Universidad del Valle. He is also a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), USA.
Dr. López is a professor of medicine at the Vision of the Americas University Foundation and a professor of gynecology and obstetrics at the University of Caldas, the University of Cauca, and the Technological University of Pereira (UTP).
He is the medical director of Inser Eje Cafetero, based in Pereira. He has served as president of the Risaralda Association of Gynecology and Obstetrics and is an active member of important national and international associations, such as the Colombian Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology (Fecolsog), the Colombian Association of Assisted Reproduction Centers (Accer), the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE).
He has participated as a speaker in multiple national and international conferences and is the author of several chapters in gynecology and obstetrics books circulated in Colombia and other countries.
Nationally and internationally recognized for his expertise as a laparoscopic surgeon, Dr. Carlos López excels in the treatment of fibroids, endometriosis, and congenital uterine malformations. He is also currently part of the Chimerization Uterine Transplantation research group.
