For two years, the INSER Human Fertility Institute has been carrying out patient care days in different municipalities of the country. These medical days that began in Quibdó and now reach Apartadó, Manizales, Tuluá and Yopal, have the purpose of accompanying hundreds of families who dream of having a child but who face some infertility condition.
From the Eastern Plains to the Colombian Pacific and the Coffee Axis, INSER doctors perform a complete First Time Consultation that includes: initial assessment by a fertility specialist (with ultrasound), review of exams (second meeting with the specialist in less than 6 months), virtual psychological accompaniment and detailed explanation of the treatment / budget indicated for the patient.
During the Fertility Consultation, a comprehensive diagnosis of the patient’s condition is made. If the couple requires a low-complexity treatment, the specialist can treat it through periodic check-ups in the municipality where the day takes place. If, on the other hand, the patient requires a more complex treatment, the doctor will recommend the step to follow in case it is necessary to travel to our locations throughout the country: Medellín, Rionegro, Bogotá, Pereira and Cartagena.
In addition to accompanying patients, INSER also develops continuing education sessions for general practitioners and gynecologists in the municipalities it visits. This with the aim of promoting the adequate treatment of the patient with a diagnosis of infertility in low complexity.
