Dr. Germán David Ospina, new president of the Colombian Association of Human Reproduction Centers ACCERH

On March 29, our medical director of InSer Bogotá, Dr. Germán David Ospina, was appointed president and executive director of the Colombian Association of Reproduction Centers ACCERH.

As good news for the InSer family, the appointment of Dr. Ospina is received, who in his role as a medical specialist and leading member of the guild will represent this important association, which was created five years agoin order to unify the voice of the human reproduction centers in the country and regulate the processes of human fertility in Colombia.

One of the projects that Dr. Ospina, as president of this important institution, together with the board of directors of ACCERH, has is the articulation of Law 1953 of February 2019, recently sanctioned by the President of the Republic, which aims to define a public policy that regulates fertility treatments in the country and the processes that are carried out in the centers created for this purpose.  “This project opens a historic window in Colombia and that is why ACCERH will have a decisive role in the execution of this law. We have the mission of studying and improving the recent processes carried out in countries such as Argentina, Mexico, Chile and Uruguay and making a useful bill for all Colombians,” adds Dr. Germán Ospina.

As another important project, Dr. Ospina will seek to promote continuing education spaces such as congresses or seminars to socialize issues related to assisted reproduction and fertility in the country. This in order to unify criteria to advance in the study of this important science for human health.

This association currently has 26 fertility and human reproduction centers throughout the country, however, it is expected that new centers will join this important association to create a joint spokesperson where fertility is a concept close to all citizens.
