The fact of having been born as a woman does not necessarily imply having children, because being a mother is present in many acts and moments of our lives. Just like Mother Earth, we all have the capacity to generate life, to give shelter, to provide care, affection and help.
There are many ways to be a mother:
- Through cooperation: When you carry out acts of help to a person, a foundation or society.
- Through affection: When you recognize someone who needs a hug, a shoulder to cry on and support them through an act of love or a few nice words of relief.
- Through welcome: When someone new arrives in a social circle at work, the city, a study partner, etc. and you look for a way to integrate them into the group.
- Through commiseration: When you are able to put yourself in the shoes of the other and understand their emotions and feelings through good listening.
- Through biology: Faced with the desire to be parents and two bodies united through love, they manage to create a human being.
This powerful desire can sometimes have bumps in the road, such as infertility. In my case, for example, the desire to be a mother had to go through many spiritual, mental, physical and even ancestral tests to get the strength, the determination and stay fixed on the goal. Had it not been for the great support and drive of my husband’s strength, I might have given up on the first loss—which was exceedingly painful—or on the next negative trials that followed.
My desire to be a mother arose when I was 40 years old, just at the moment when I had to decide whether to lose my uterus or have children, before that I was not ready to have the responsibility of another life; It was thanks to the trust I received from the being whose life example would be the best for my children and because I know that the future needs good people like him, thanks to this I continued in the process.
Despite all the difficulties I had, I managed to have twins, beautiful twins and although I know that infertility is a painful process for many women, I want you to never forget that being a mother is also believing, having faith in the future despite the news of war and the pessimism that we live daily on the planet, Being a mother is to feel that you are going to give the best of yourself so that through the next generations this changes. Being a mother is everyone’s business.
