At INSER our greatest responsibility is to take care of the health and well-being of our patients and work team, that is why we have decided to fully adhere to the COVID-19 prevention measures recommended by the National Ministry of Health and fertility associations in the world (American Society for Reproductive Medicine – ASRM, European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology – ESHRE and Colombian Association of Human Reproduction Centers – ACCERH ).
With this in mind, we share the measures that will be taken as of March 18, 2020 at our INSER headquarters in the country (Medellín, Eje Cafetero, Bogotá and Cartagena)
1. First-time consultations and exam reviews will be scheduled virtually only. It is important to keep in mind that this type of consultation guarantees all the necessary protocols to reach a comprehensive diagnosis of the patient, since everything that is normally included in this type of fertility appointment (times, transvaginal ultrasound in a second meeting and virtual emotional accompaniment consultation) will be respected.
2. Patients who are in the middle of initiated treatments will finish their cycles normally with the accompaniment of our specialists and care staff. In these cases, the necessary preventive measures will be taken for the care of the patient and the team that attends to the case.
3. The initiation of treatment will be suspended as of this date. This with a view to avoiding the contact and displacement of national and international patients to our headquarters.
4. Our team of specialists and care personnel will have modifications in their shifts to guarantee the treatment of active patients, but reducing travel to the headquarters and attention to the general public.
5. INSER’s administrative staff will telework to avoid their displacement and the conglomeration of people at our headquarters.
It is important to bear in mind that the application of these measures is subject to the indications of the National Government. We will resume our usual work as soon as the government entities ensure that the virus is under control and recommend us to return.
